Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/4/16) The Nyack College Warriors used a penalty kick goal in the 88th minute to defeat host, Dominican College, 2-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on the DC Soccer Field.
Sophomore midfielder Jennay Gray (Pine Bush, N.Y.) got the Lady Chargers on the scoreboard with her fourth goal of the year on a shot from about 20 yards out at 24:19 for the 1-0 lead.
NC tied the game in the 49th minute on a shot from the middle of the box. The Warriors recorded the game-winner following a DC foul in the box that led to the penalty kick at 88:12 for the 2-1 lead and win.
Dominican (3-6, 3-3 CACC) held the 12-10 advantage in shots, while the Warriors had a 5-0 lead in corner kicks.
Keeper Angelica Contreras (Baytown, Texas) made four saves in the loss.
The Lady Chargers will take on non-conference opponent, Molloy College on Thursday afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.
