LADY CHARGERS EDGED BY FELICIAN
Rutherford, N.J. (9/13/17) The Dominican College women's soccer team were edged, 2-1, this evening by the Golden Falcons of Felician University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game played at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.

After their disappointing loss on Saturday, the Lady Chargers were seeking their first win of the season. Dominican, now 0-4 (0-2 CACC) was able to end the first half on a high note in this game with a goal by Taylor Calero (New City, NY) at the 44:51 mark for her first tally of the season. The goal was assisted by Kaitlyn Montera (New City, NY) for her first assist of the year and Dominican had the lead going into halftime. Calero and Montera both led the team in shots with three each and two each were recorded on goal and saved by Felician's Jamie Kazenmayor. Kazenmayor made five total saves in the game as Dominican had six on goal.
The Lady Charger's Angelica Contreras (Baytown, TX) recorded three saves on five shots on goal.
In the second half, Felician tied the score at the 48:40 mark with an unassisted goal from Amanda Nowak for her first goal of the year. The score remained tied for the rest of the half with Felician out shooting the Chargers 9-4. At the 82:38 mark, Amanda Nowak scored her second goal of the game which also went unassisted to give the Golden Falcons the lead late in the game. Game would eventually end 2-1 giving the Golden Falcons the win improving their record to 1-3-1 (1-1 CACC).
DC will have the next couple of days off before they travel to Chestnut Hill College for their send conference game of the year in search of their first overall win and first win in the conference.
