Rockville Centre, N.Y. (9/30/17) The Lady Charger soccer team traveled to Molloy College looking to build off of their first win of the season against Nyack. The Lady Chargers had a rough start to the season and hope to start seeing some success now that the calendar is changing to October. They had to take care of business against Molloy before looking ahead to the second half of the schedule.

In the first half, Molloy scored early at the 10:57 mark when Katlyn Merino scored off of a free kick. Molloy took the early 1-0 lead and never looked back. Molloy was able to strike not once but two more times before the end of the half with goals by Amanda Milazzo and Dana Poetzsch to give Molooy a comfortable 3-0 lead going into halftime. Molloy was the main offensive aggressor in the first half outshooting Dominican 12 shots to two.

Angelica Contreras (Baytown, TX) started the game for the Chargers and recorded four saves on seven shots she faced that were on goal.

In the second half, Molloy picked up right where they left off and did not miss a beat. Two early goals by Kristen Cummings and Caroline Zimmerman scored to extend the lead to 4-0 and then 5-0 just under three minutes apart from each other. At the 73:54 mark, Molloy scored its sixth and final goal making the score 6-0. The goal was scored by Sam Bernieri. Molloy outshot Dominican again eight shots to three making the totals for the entire game 20 shots to five.

Goalkeepers Jasmine Pesante (Wappingers, Falls, NY) and Samantha Simler (Cheshire, CT) split the time in the second half but Molloy was well prepared for this game.

The Lady Chargers dropped to 1-8 (1-5 CACC) and will host Concordia College on Wednesday as they look to bounce back and earn their second win of the season.
