WOMEN'S SOCCER SELECTED 11TH IN 2018 CACC WOMEN'S SOCCER PRESEASON POLL

(8/8/18) Defending champion Georgian Court University was tabbed first in the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced on Wednesday by Commissioner Dan Mara. The Lions earned 164 points in the voting, including eight first-place votes, as the voting for the preseason rankings was conducted by the league's 13 head coaches in the sport.

The Lions earned 164 points in the voting, including eight first-place votes, as the voting for the preseason rankings was conducted by the league's 13 head coaches in the sport.
GCU has appeared in each of the last two CACC Championship finals, including a thrilling win in last year's final over Wilmington University. The Lions advanced to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament with their victory. Jim Moore has led the program for the last several seasons, as Georgian Court has also become one of the most competitive teams throughout the East Region.
WilmU, the 2017 CACC finalist, was picked second in the 2018 preseason poll, as the Wildcats earned 145 points and two first-place votes. Jefferson, which claimed back-to-back CACC crowns in 2014 and 2015, rounded out the top three in the poll with 131 points and one first-place nod.
The 2018 CACC Women's Soccer regular season kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 30, with several teams getting their campaigns underway. The regular season will be a build up to the 2018 CACC Championship, which will be conducted Oct. 29, Nov. 2 & 4, with the semis and final to be held in Waterbury, Conn.
