Waterbury, CT (10/10/18) The Dominican College women's soccer team won their second straight game with a 3-1 win over Post University. The Chargers improved their record to 3-9-1 (3-5-1 CACC) with the win over the Eagles. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 3-7-2 (3-4-1 CACC).
Jasmine Pesante (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) started in goal for the Chargers and made 10 saves in the win to improve her record 2-2. The Chargers, as a team, took 14 shots in the win. Megan Geary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) took 8 shots in the game and recorded 7 on goal to lead the Charger offense.
The Chargers opened the scoring at the 22:20 mark when Maria Cabrera (Haverstraw, N.Y.) scored for the 1-0 lead. The Eagles tied the game when Hope Wilson scored at the 27:39 mark.
Just over four minutes later, the Chargers regained the lead when Abby Montera (New City, N.Y.) scored at the 31:47 mark for the 2-1 lead. The Chargers extended their lead when Megan Geary scored forty seconds into the second half for the 3-1 lead.
The Chargers held onto the 3-1 for the duration of the game to secure the victory.
The Chargers will look to continue their strong play when they travel to Robert Wesleyan College on Saturday, October 13th at 1:00 PM.
