Rockville Centre, N.Y. (9/25/19) The Dominican College women's soccer team traveled to Molloy College for a non-conference game against the Lions. The Lions defeated the Lady Chargers by a score of 3-0 to improve to 5-1-1. DC falls to 2-5 overall on the season. 

The Lady Chargers recorded four total shots in the game. Abby Montera (New City, N.Y.), Danielle Gillespie (New City, N.Y.), Brianna Sparrow (Cherry Hill, N.J.), and Alexis Wysocki (Rahway, N.J.) each recorded one shot in the loss. 

The Lions fired 14 shots in the game and recorded seven on goal. Dana Poetzsch led the Lions in shots and scored two goals in the win. Both Poetzsch goals took place in the first ten minutes of the game to give the Lions an early 2-0 lead. Both goals were assisted by Lexi Verni. 

Lauren Marinello scored the third and final goal of the game in the second half. The goal was unassisted and the Lions closed out the 3-0 win. 

Jackie Carty started in net for the Lions and recorded her fifth win on the season with a shutout over DC. 

The Lady Chargers will look to bounce back when they travel to Wilmington University on Saturday, September 28th for a CACC conference game. The game is scheduled to begin at 12:30 PM.
