GEARY RECORDS HAT TRICK IN VICTORY OVER LIONS

(3/23/21) Junior forward Megan Geary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) recorded her first hat trick of the season as the Dominican College women's soccer team defeated the visiting Lions of Georgian Court University, 4-1, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played at the OMM Soccer Complex.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/23/21) Junior forward Megan Geary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) recorded her first hat trick of the season as the Dominican College women's soccer team defeated the visiting Lions of Georgian Court University, 4-1, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played at the OMM Soccer Complex.

With the win, Dominican improves to 2-1-1 on the season, while GCU falls to 1-2.

Geary scored her first goal in the 25th minute of play off the pass from the right side from freshman Alyana Gonel (Teaneck, N.J.) for the 1-0 advantage.  About eight minutes later, Geary struck for her second game goal, this time off a pass from rookie Olivia Ferris (Staten Island, N.Y.) to exten the lead to 2-0.

Before the break, GCU would get on the scoreboard in the 37th minute on a shot into the lower left corner of the net to cut the lead to 2-1 at the break.

Sophomore forward Danai Chimeda (Dacula, Ga.) regained a two-goal lead almost four minutes into the second half off the dish from Geary for the 3-1 lead.

Geary concluded the scoring at the 58:11 mark off the pass from Gonel for the final 4-1 win.

Geary finished with three goals and one assist on the day.

Starting keeper Lauren Buchanan (Union, N.J.) played the first half, while Lauren Drummond (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada), Sophia Das Neves (Newark, N.J.) and Lynne Garofalo (Ridgefield, N.J.) all contributed to second half play with Drummond recording one save.

DC is scheduled to return to action on Saturday evening when they travel to Nyack College.
