Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/9/21) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team dropped their conference opener to the Rams of Thomas Jefferson University by a score of 4-2.

The Rams rallied in the second half by scoring four unanswered goals after Dominican extended their lead to 2-0 at the start of the second half.

The Chargers fall to 2-1-1 (0-1 CACC) after the loss and Rams improved to 2-3 (1-0 CACC).

Jefferson goalkeeper Liv Riddel earned the win and recorded six total saves.

Stella Paton (Edinburgh, Scotland) started in net for the Chargers and made five saves but suffered the loss.

Kaitlyn Zeeb (Piscataway, N.J.) finished the game with three points by scoring one goal and recorded one assist. Alissa Madura (Warwick, N.Y.) scored the second Dominican goal at the beginning of the second half. Isabella Wysocki (Rahway, N.J.) assisted the second Charger goal.

Madura's goal gave Dominican the 1-0 lead at the 27:33 mark and the score remained by halftime.

Kaitlyn Zeeb's goal was scored within the opening minute of the second half and extended the Charger lead to 2-0.

The Rams answered and cut the Dominican lead to 2-1 when Nikki Dedes scored at 50:11. Jefferson scored three more goals down the stretch when Marisa Lobb tied the game and Anna Midock gave the Rams a 3-2 lead.

Dedes scored her second goal of the game to extend the Jefferson lead to 4-2 and helped close out the comeback win.

Laurel Erick and Lola Oguntuase each added one assist.

The Chargers will look to bounce back when they travel to Bloomfield College on Tuesday, September 13th for a conference match up with the Bears at 7:00 PM.
