Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/9/24) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team fell in conference action to the Cougars of Caldwell University this afternoon on O'Brien Field.
The Cougars improve to 7-3-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play while the Lady Chargers fall to 4-5 overall and 2-3 in the CACC.
Nelly Arvidsson started in goal for the Lady Chargers and made 10 saves but suffered the loss. CU goalkeeper Ariana Gaminara made three saves and recorded her sixth win of the season.
Taina Gervais scored the only goal of the game at 15:47 when she played the ball off of a DU defender and connected from 15 yards out for the 1-0 lead.
The score remained for the rest of the game. The Cougars led in shots with 20 while the Lady Chargers took a total of 14.
Rosio Cardenas led CU in shots with six while Melissa Martinez finished with shots. Gervais added three shots.
Jessie Maraia led the Lady Chargers in shots with five. Kaitlyn Zeeb, Sabine Sorensen, and Alissa Madura each took two shots.
The Lady Chargers will return to action this Saturday when they visit Chestnut Hill College to take on the Griffins.
