Newark, Del. (10/26/24) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with CACC opponent Wilmington University this afternoon.
The Wildcats, coming into this match up ranked #6 in the United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll, now stand at 9-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in conference play.
The Lady Chargers now hold an overall record of 6-6-2 and a conference record of 4-3-2.
Brielle Bell started the game in net for the Lady Chargers and made five saves. WILMU keeper Arianna Myers made four saves.
The Wildcats took the lead in the first half on an unassisted goal by Alyssa Ruggeri at the 37:16 mark.
WILMU held the lead through halftime and late into the second half. Dominican tied the scored in the 78th minute when Isabella Wysocki scored her eighth goal of the season tying the team lead. Sabine Sorensen picked up her third assist of the season on the tying goal and the game would end in a tie.
The Lady Chargers finished the game with 10 shots while the Wildcats ended with 12 shots. Wysocki took a team-high five shots with two registering on goal. Wilmington also held the edge in corner kicks.
The Lady Chargers return to action next Wednesday when they travel to Queens College for a non-conference contest with the Knights at 5:00 PM.
