LADY CHARGERS DEFEAT GOLDEN FALCONS IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE

Rutherford, N.J. (11/8/24) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team defeated the Golden Falcons of Felician University in their 2024 regular season finale by a score of 3-1. 

Dominican finishes the 2024 regular season with an overall record of 7-8-2 and a 5-4-2 conference record. 

Brielle Bell got the start in goal for the Lady Chargers and made six saves, three in each half, in the win. 

Felician got on the board first at the 4:15 mark of the game when Kailey Rappel scored the opening goal. Cynthia Amankwaa picked up the assist. 

The Lady Chargers responded with three unanswered goals on their way to the 3-1 win. 

Alissa Madura tied the score in the 24th minute and the score remained at 1-1 by halftime. Jessie Maraia and Kelly Harris each scored eight minutes apart to put the Lady Chargers up 3-1 with just over 20 minutes left to play and held on for the win. 

Maraia, Kaitlyn Zeeb, and Isabella Wysocki each picked up assists. Wysocki led the team in shots with three while Madura and Zeeb took two each. 

Felician held the edge in shots 10-9 while Dominican held the edge in corner kicks 5-4. 

Next up for the Lady Chargers is the opening round of the 2024 CACC Championships on Monday. Time and opponent are TBD.
