Bardonia, N.Y. (9/21/19) The Dominican College women's tennis team fell in non-conference action to the visiting Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan College, 4-3, this afternoon in a match played on the Albertus Magnus Courts.
The Lady Chargers earned the doubles point by taking first and third doubles. Isha Mbaye (New Orleans, La.) and Elizabeth Hixson (Smithfield, Utah) won a tight knit battle in first doubles by the score of 7-6, while Nora Frederick (Dover, Del.) and Kendra Saintel (Nanuet, N.Y.) took third doubles, 6-3.
Laura Freeman and Carolyn Graham won second doubles against Paula Gutierrez (Bogota, Columbia) and Joana Ndunduma (Cedar Hill, Texas) to avoid the sweep.
Freeman would best Gutierrez, 6-1 and 6-3, in first singles to tie the match at 1-1, but Mbaye would rebuilt a 2-1 lead for Dominican with her 6-1, 6-3 victory in second singles.
Frederick was edged in third doubles by Salome Darsalia 1-6, 6-1 and 5-7 and Hixson fell in fourth singles 4-6 and 3-6 to put RWC ahead 3-2.

Dominican (2-2) returns to action on Wednesday when they host Concordia College in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener.
