Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/4/22)  The Dominican University New York women's tennis team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match to the visiting Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College, 4-3, this afternoon in a match played at Match Point Tennis Club.

The Lady Chargers fall to 2-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

Dominican picked up the doubles point as the team of Vanya Tyagi (Delhi, India) and Nora Frederick (Dover, Del.) bested their opponents in second doubles, while Bipasha Mehn (Hyderabad, India) and Ava O'Brien (Melbourne, Australia) won their match in third doubles for the early 1-0 advantage.

GBC tied the match with wins in first and second singles, but Rupkatha Mukherjee (Kolkata, India) and Tyagi regained a 3-2 lead with victories in third and fourth singles.  The Lightning picked up the victory with wins in fifth and sixth singles for the 4-3 win.
