WOMEN'S TENNIS TOP LIONS

Merrick, N.Y. (10/3/24)  The Dominican University New York women's tennis team topped the Molloy University Lions, 4-3, this afternoon in a non-conference match played at the Carefree Raquet Club.

With the win, Dominican improves to 2-5 overall.

The Lady Chargers trailed 1-0 after doubles but won four of the six singles to bring home the 4-3 win.  Lia Sarjveladze, Kyla Fouts, Ava O'Brien and Olivia Lopez all won their single matches.

Sarjveladze fell in the opening set, 6-4, but rallied to take the next two, 6-4 and 6-0.  Fouts edge her opponent 7-5 in set one and followed with a 6-1 win in the second.

O'Brien bested her foe, 6-0 and 6-1, while Lopez took home the 6-0, 6-2 victory.
