New Haven, Conn. (5/12/20)  Forty-two (42) student-athletes on Tuesday were named to the 2020 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Track & Field All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 42 student-athletes represent 12 of the 13 schools that sponsor the sport at the varsity level in the conference.

Dominican College's Djazmina Jean-Pierre and Marissa Murphy were among the recipients.  Jean-Pierre makes her second appearance on the CACC All-Academic Team as she maintains a grade point average of 3.53 in her major of education.  Murphy earns her first All-Academic honors as she holds a grade point average of 3.75 in her major of criminal justice.

A pair of student-athletes led the way with perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages, including Emma Kongevold (Wilmington University) and Rachel Pausz (Georgian Court University). They were two of seven student-athletes on the team who posted GPAs of 3.90 or higher.

Wilmington University had the most honorees on the team with eight, followed by Georgian Court and Thomas Jefferson University with six apiece.

Seventeen (17) of the 42 were named to the CACC All-Academic Team for at least the second time in their respective careers, while four of those made it for the third time.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution. Requirements for eligibility for the all-academic teams were slightly altered this spring only, as the 2020 spring season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (N.Y.) College, Dominican (N.Y.) College, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, Post University of Waterbury, Thomas Jefferson University, University of the Sciences, and Wilmington University.
