DOMINICAN'S GREAVES WIN JAVELIN AT 2022 RAMAPO TRACK AND FIELD INVITATIONAL

Mahwah, N.J. (4/3/22) Dominican College's Vanessa Greaves (Bridgetown, Barbados) won the javelin event at the 2022 Ramapo Track and Field Invitational held this past Friday and Saturday on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.

Mahwah, N.J. (4/3/22) Dominican College's Vanessa Greaves (Bridgetown, Barbados) won the javelin event at the 2022 Ramapo Track and Field Invitational held this past Friday and Saturday on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.

Ann McCormack (Pearl River, N.Y.) set a new school record in the 5000m run, while Stacy Eliezer (New City, N.Y.) set a school record in the hammer throw.

The Lady Chargers finished in 13th place overall with 15 points.

Top Performances

  • Greaves won the javelin event with a throw of 40.83m (133'11").
  • Freshman Anna Murphy (Holbrook, N.Y.) finished in sixth place in the 800m run with a time of 2:30.14.
  • McCormack took seventh place in the 5000m run with a time of 19:31.87.
  • Eliezer set a new school record in the hammer throw with a throw of 23.02m (75'6") and finished in 12th place.

Other Performances

  • Eliezer finished in 11th place in the discus event with a throw of 24.43m (80'2") and 12th in the shot put with a throw of 9.49m (31'1.75").
  • Jumper Cyan Bullock (Spring Valley, N.Y.) took 15th place in the long jump with a jump of 4.26m (13'11.75")
  • McCormack ran in the 800m run and finished in 13th place with a time of 2:35.73 and took 14th place in the 1500m run with a time of 5:19.43.
  • Also competing in the 5000m was Steffy Espejo (Tunja, Colombia) who finished in 14th place with a time of 21:50.94.
  • The 400m dash saw Desiree Joseph-Jarvis (Livingston, N.J.) finish in 15th place with a time of 1:06.90 and Nicole Kordonias (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) take 29th place with a time of 1:22.23.
  • Joseph-Jarvis also competed in the 200m dash where she took 26th place with a time of 29.18.  Bullock finished in 28th place with a time of 30.50, while Melissa Moise (Spring Valley, N.Y.) ran a time of 30.62 to finish in 39th place.  Tatyana Ocasio (Middletown, N.Y.) finished in 40th place with a time of 31.28 and Krystal Parris (Toronto, Canada) took 44th place with a time of 32.78.
  • In the 100m dash preliminaries Jada Hammond (Nyack, N.Y.) took 22nd place with a time of 14.02, while Ocasio finished in 30th place with a time of 14.51.  Moise had a time of 14:53 to finish in 31st place and Parris took 34th place with a time of 14.88.  Angelica Figueroa (New York, N.Y.) rounded out the event with a time of 32.78 to finish in 44th place.
