TRACK AND FIELD TRAVEL TO MONMOUTH WINTER COLLEGIATE INVITATIONAL

West Long Branch, N.J. (1/28/23) Members of the Dominican University New York men's and women's track and field teams traveled to the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational held at the OceanFirst Bank Center.

WOMEN'S RESULTS

  • Freshman Jayda Jones (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) took 11th place in the first heat of the 60m dash with a time of 8.75.  Krystal Parris (Toronto, Canada) finished in 13th place with a time of 8.94.
  • In the 200m dash, Jones ran a time of 29.62 to finish in 14th place, while Parris took 17th place with a time of 32.32.

MEN'S RESULTS

  • Junior Kenney Lauredent (Pomona, N.Y.) had the high finish of third place in the triple jump with a jump of 14.01m (45-11.75).  Jeffrey Li Rivera (Suffern, N.Y.) took 11th place with a jump of 11.35m (37-03.00).
  • Olatunji Adewole (North Plainfield, N.J.) finished of sixth place in the 400m dash with a time of 54.53.  Freshman Prince Copeland (Haverstraw, N.Y.) took 10th place with a time of 56.53 and Samuel Fileen (Monroe, N.Y.) finished in 12th place with a time of 57.61.  Steven Smith (Yonkers, N.Y.) ran a time of 58.96 to finish in 15th place, while Daniel Pinilla (Blauvelt, N.Y.) took 16th place with a time of 59.26.
  • Junior Brian Thompson (North Bergen, N.J.) ran the 200m dash in a time of 23.81 to finish in 10th place.  Freshman Rivera finished in 20th place with a time of 25.36.  Dariel Suarez (North Bergen, N.J.) finished in 23rd place with a time of 25.64 and Fileen took 24th place with a time of 25.70.  Sophomore Smith ran a time of 25.80 to finish in 26th place, while Aidan Mallon (Bohemia, N.Y.) finished in 27th place with a time of 25.91.
  • Mallon took 12th place with a time of 7.53, while Suarez finished in 15th place with a time of 7.60.
  • Jumper Lauredent took part in the long jump and took 12th place with a jump of 5.96m (19-06.75).  Rivera took 19th place with a jump of 5.25m (17-02.75).
  • In the 60m preliminary race, Thompson finished in 13th place with a time of 7.30.
  • Aidan Nelson (Tappan, N.Y.) competed in the 800m run, taking 15th place with a time of 2:15.07.  Copeland finished in 19th place with a time of 2:26.78.
  • The one mile race saw Pinilla finish in 16th place with a time of 5:22.94, while Chase Freed (Queensbury, N.Y.) took 18th place with a time of 5:53.09.
  • In the shot put, Adam Lenn (Thiells, N.Y.) and Louis Rodriguez (Monsey, N.Y.) took 17th and 18th place with throws of 11.66m (38-03.25) and 11.45m (37-06.25).  Lawrence Ribeiro (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) finished in 22nd place with a throw of 9.38m (30-09.25) and Vincent Faison (Chester, N.Y.) took 27th place with a time of 6.62m (21-08.75).

The teams are scheduled to travel to the NYU DIII Invitational on February 3rd.
