New York, N.Y. (2/4/23) Several members of the Dominican University New York men's and women's track and field teams competed at the NYU Division III Invitational held last night at the Armory and hosted by New York University.

WOMEN'S RESULTS

  • Freshman Jayda Jones (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) competed in the unseeded finals of the 60m dash where she took first place with a time of 8.58.  Krystal Parris (Toronto, Canada) finished in eighth place with a time of 9.06.
  • In the shot put event, Stacy Eliezer (New City, N.Y.) took ninth place with a throw of 9.50m (31-02.00).
  • Jones and Julia Dunne (Babylon, N.Y.) competed in the 200m dash where they finished in 40th and 41st place with times of 29.55 and 29.61.
  • Anna Murphy (Holbrook, N.Y.) ran the one mile run in a time of 6:23.64 to take 48th place.
MEN'S RESULTS
  • Kenney Lauredent (Pomona, N.Y.) finished in 1st place in the triple jump invite with a jump of 13.97m (45-10.00).  Jeffrey Li Rivera (Suffern, N.Y.) took 13th place with a jump of 11.18m (36-08.25).
  • Adam Lenn (Thiells, N.Y.) finished in fifth place in the shot put invite with a throw of 14.34m (47-00.75).
  • The long jump invite saw Lauredent take 11th place in the long jump invite with a jump of 5.92m (19-05.25).
  • The unseeded 60m dash saw Lauredent finish in 13th place with a time of 7.64.
  • Louis Rodriguez (Monsey, N.Y.) took part in the shot put event and took 13th place with a throw of 11.30m (37-01.00).
  • Samuel Fileen (Monroe, N.Y.), Prince Copeland (Haverstraw, N.Y.), Steven Smith (Yonkers, N.Y.) and Olatunji Adewole (North Plainfield, N.J.) competed in the 4x400 relay where they took 16th place with a time of 3:46.42.
  • In the preliminaries of the 60m dash, Brian Thompson (North Bergen, N.J.) finished in 17th place with a time of 7.38.  Aidan Mallon (Bohemia, N.Y.) took 30th place with a time of 7.65 and Dariel Suarez (North Bergen, N.J.) ran a time of 7.83 to finish in 32nd place.
  • Thompson also competed in the 200m dash where he took 20th place with a time of 23.43.  Suarez finished in 61st place with a time of 25.54.
  • In the 400m dash, Adewole finished in 22nd place with a time of 53.42.  Fileen ran a time of 55.74 to finish in 38th place and Smith took 48th place with a time of 57.72.
  • Rivera took part in the long jump event where he finished in 21st place with a jump of 5.49m (18-00.25).
  • Copeland competed in the 800m run where he took 61st place with a time of 2:16.84.
  • Freshman Aidan Nelson (Tappan, N.Y.) finished in 61st place in the one mile run with a time of 5:06.77.  Daniel Pinilla (Blauvelt, N.Y.) took 68th place with a time of 5:22.40 and Chase Freed (Queensbury, N.Y.) ran a time of 5:35.22 to finish in 70th place.

Up next for the teams will be the Fastrack National Invite on February 10th.
