LADY CHARGERS VOLLEYBALL CRUISE TO VICTORY OVER FELICIAN COLLEGE
Rutherford, NJ (9/7/11) The Dominican College women's volleyball team improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating host, Felician College, 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-15) this evening in a match held at Job Gym. Following the loss, Felician falls to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Down 4-2 in set one, Dominican went on a 9-3 run to take an 11-7 advantage. Up 11-9, DC outscored the Golden Falcons 9-4 over the next 13 points to take a commanding 20-13 lead and never looked back en route to the 25-17 set win. Jordyn Fuller (Keller, TX) opened set two with the first six service points to give the Lady Chargers a 6-0 lead and they never looked back, limiting FC to nine points in the set to take a 2-0 match lead.
Ahead 8-6 in the third set, the Lady Chargers scored the next six of eight points to lead 14-8 and cruised to the 25-15 victory with sophomore Randi Garrett (Rockledge, FL) recording the game winning kill.
Junior Courtney Heard (Ventura, CA) led all attackers on the night with 15 kills and had a .583 attack percentage. Outside hitter Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) tallied 11 kills. Setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) had a match leading 35 assists, while libero Fuller had a match leading 13 digs on the night.
As a team, the Lady Chargers had a season high .384 attack percentage.
Dominican returns to action tomorrow night as they travel to take on the College of Saint Rose in a non-conference match slated to begin at 7pm.
