COUGARS DEFEAT LADY CHARGERS

(9/23/15) The Dominican College women's volleyball squad fell to host, Caldwell University, 3-0, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest held at the George R. Newman Center. With the loss, the Lady Chargers now stand at 1-13 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

(9/23/15) The Dominican College women's volleyball squad fell to host, Caldwell University, 3-0, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest held at the George R. Newman Center. With the loss, the Lady Chargers now stand at 1-13 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
The Cougars led 24-20 in the opening set when freshman Kelly Murphy (Evergreen, Colo.) recorded a kill and then served the next three points for Dominican to knot the set at 24-24. A DC attack error and a Caldwell killing following a Dominican timeout gave them the 26-24 win.
Dominican led 22-17 in set two, but Caldwell used a kill, back-to-back attack errors and ended the run with a kill to tie the score at 22-22. A Cougar serving error gave the Lady Chargers a 23-22 advantage, but two kills and an attack error gave Caldwell the 25-23 win and 2-0 match lead.
Caldwell opened up a 6-0 lead in the final set and never looked back en route to the 25-10 win and 3-0 match victory.
Murphy led the Lady Chargers with nine kills and added eight defensive digs.
Cortney Yeoman (Glenn Dale, Md.) contributed six kills, while Kayla Rosario (Hicksville, N.Y.) had four kills in the loss.
Amanda Hallstein* (Holtsville, N.Y.) had a team high 21 assists, while Natalia Perez (Toledo, Ohio) had 14 digs.
The Lady Chargers retun home this coming Saturday as they host Holy Family University.
