TIGERS UPEND WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Philadelphia, Pa. (10/15/16) The Dominican College women's volleyball team won the opening set, but then lost the next three to fall to the Holy Family University Tigers, 3-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played at Campus Center Gym.
Philadelphia, Pa. (10/15/16) The Dominican College women's volleyball team won the opening set, but then lost the next three to fall to the Holy Family University Tigers, 3-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played at Campus Center Gym.
The first set was tied at 10-all when the Lady Chargers went on a 7-2 run with sophomore Alexa Williams (Los Angeles, Calif.) recording three service points to pull ahead 17-12. Senior Cortney Yeoman (Glenn Dale, Md.) recorded the set ending kill to give DC the 25-21 win.
Holy Family rallied to take the next three sets to win the match, 3-1.
Yeoman finished with a .353 attack percentage and seven kills.
Rookie Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) also had seven kills and added nine digs.
Angela Kim (Marlton, N.J.) had a team leading 10 digs, while Williams finished with eight digs.
Setter Kera Dexter* (Selah, Wash.) had a team high 25 assists.
With the loss, Dominican falls to 4-16 overall and 3-8 in CACC play.
The Lady Chargers will host Caldwell University this coming Wednesday night in a CACC North Division contest. Match time is scheduled for 7pm on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
