WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS FELICIAN UNIVERSITY

(11/8/16) The Dominican College women's volleyball team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match from the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician University, 3-0, this evening on Senior Night at the Hennessy Center. The Lady Chargers took the match in consecutive sets by scores of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-20.

The Lady Chargers took the match in consecutive sets by scores of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-20.
Prior to the match team team honored seniors #1 Angela Kim (Marlton, N.J.), #3 Kera Dexter (Selah, Wash.), #16 Emily Diaz (Orange, N.J.) and #42 Cortney Yeoman (Glenn Dale, Md.).
The seniors dedicated tonight's game in memory of Mike Coffey, Dominican's Assistant Sports Information Director and Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, who suddenly passed away this past April.
The Lady Chargers never trailed in the first two sets as they opened the match with a 5-1 lead en route to a 25-13 win and charged ahead 9-2 in the second frame to take a 25-18 victory.
Felician led 10-9 in the third set when DC went on a 4-0 run, capped off by back-to-back kills from Alexa Williams (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Yeoman to go in front 13-10. The Golden Falcons came back to knot the set at 14-all and later used a service error to pull within a point at 20-21. Following consecutive Felician errors, Dominican closed out the match with kills from Gabrielle Napoleon (Springfield, Pa.) and Yeoman for the 25-20 win and 3-0 match victory.
Yeoman finished with a match leading 13 kills and had a .407 attack percentage.
Napoleon finished with eight kills and a .467 attack percentage, while Williams had seven kills and seven digs.
Dexter posted a night best 30 assists and seven digs.
Libero Kim recorded a match high 16 digs and Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) added 15 digs and three service aces.
Natalia Perez (Prosper, Texas) also had three service aces and five digs.
Dominican (5-24, 4-14 CACC) will conclude the season this coming Saturday when they travel to Bloomfield College.
