FORTY-FOUR STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED TO 2016 CACC VOLLEYBALL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
New Haven, Conn. (12/2/16) Forty-four student-athletes on Friday were named to the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara.

New Haven, Conn. (12/2/16) Forty-four student-athletes on Friday were named to the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara.
In order to be named to the CACC Volleyball All-Academic Team, recipients must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher through the spring or summer semester of 2016.
Dominican College senior Kera Dexter (Selah, Wash.) earned her third consecutive CACC All-Academic honors.
Three student-athletes on the list produced perfect 4.0 GPAs, including a pair from the University of the Sciences (Rachel Isackman & Brooke Witmer). Wilmington University's Miranda Shaw was the other student-athlete to produce a 4.0 mark.
Eight other student-athletes earned GPAs of 3.90-3.99. Nine of the honorees were named to the All-Academic Team for the third time in their impressive careers, while 13 more were named to the squad for the second time, marking 50 percent of the unit was made up of multiple-time honorees. One of the two-time honorees was Post University's Skylar German, who in November was named the CACC Player of the Year in the sport for the third-consecutive season.
Holy Family University led the way with seven honorees, while Bloomfield College followed with five. Both programs not only found themselves at the top of the academic list, but also qualified for the CACC Championship tournament last month.
The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (N.Y.) College, Dominican (N.Y.) College, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, Philadelphia University, Post University of Waterbury, University of the Sciences, and Wilmington University.
