Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/13/17) The Dominican College women's volleyball team dropped their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opening match to the visiting Devils from the University of the Sciences, 3-0, this evening in a match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/13/17) The Dominican College women's volleyball team dropped their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opening match to the visiting Devils from the University of the Sciences, 3-0, this evening in a match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
USciences took the match in consecutive sets by scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-16 to improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in CACC play.
Sophomores Malia Robinson (Jersey City, N.J.) and Gabrielle Napoleon (Springfield, Pa.) led the Lady Charger offense with sixth kills a-piece in the loss. Both players recorded one solo block each, while Napoleon added three block assists and seven digs.
Outside hitter Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) added five kills and seven digs.
Setter Essence Boyd (Peekskill, N.Y.) tied her career high with 19 assists and had eight digs, while Giovanna Del Sordo (Springfield, N.J.) also tallied eight digs.
With the loss, the Lady Chargers fall to 0-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Dominican will host non-conference opponent, The College of Saint Rose, tomorrow evening at 7pm on Coach Baxter Court.
