Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/11/17) The Lady Chargers volley ball team hosted Post University on Wednesday night in search of their first win of the 2017 season. It has been a tough year so far for the Lady Chargers, but have played hard every match. Post University entered the match in contention for first place in the conference. The Eagles are riding a four game winning streak seeking the opportunity against Dominican to extend their streak to five.
Post got off to a fast start early taking the first set by a score of 25-13 while recording 11 kills as a team to take the lead one set to none. The Eagles continued to overmatch Dominican with a 25-12 win in set number two and recorded 11 kills as a team in the second set as well. Post kept the momentum going into the third set beating Dominican by a score of 25-11. The match ended three sets to none for the Eagles improving them to 11-9 (9-1 CACC) keeping them tied with Caldwell University for first place in the conference standings. The Lady Chargers recorded four kills in set number one, five kills in set number two, and four kills in set number three as a team.
As for the Lady Chargers, they drop to 0-19 and 0-10 in the CACC on the season. Natalia Perez (Prosper, TX) and Gabrielle Napoleon (Springfield, PA) led the team in digs with seven each. Essence Boyd (Peekskill, NY) led the team in assists with 11 and Mykalee Chambers (Bronx, NY) led the team in kills with four.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Saturday when they visit Wilmington University when they look to bounce back and earn their first win of the season.
