WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEPT BY NYACK

Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/14/18) The Dominican College Women's Volleyball team were swept by the Warriors of Nyack College in a CACC conference match on Friday.
The Warriors improved their record to 3-8 (2-1 CACC) with the 3-0 victory over DC. The Chargers fall to 1-9 (1-2 CACC).
The Warriors took the first set by a score of 25-12 and followed it up with another 25-12 win in set number two. Nyack completed the sweep over DC with a 25-17 victory to secure their third win of the season.
The Warriors controlled the first two sets by not letting the Chargers take a lead. Nyack got off to a fast start in the third and final set, but Dominican fought back. The Warriors sealed the win with the 25-17 win.
Kyra Zuhlke led the way for the Warriors in scoring with 13 points paired with 12 kills. Abby Wright and Megan Ma'afala Maiava both finished the match with 8.5 points scored. Larreya Hayden finished the match with 8 points and 8 kills.
Rachel Medin added 32 assists in the win and British Dawson led the team in digs with 12.
For the Chargers, Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) recorded 7 points and 7 kills as well as 6 digs. Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished with 12 assists and 7 digs. Essence Boyd (Peekskill, N.Y.) added 7 digs and 6 assists. Natalia Perez (Prosper, Texas) finished the match with 10 digs.
The Chargers will look to bounce back on Saturday when they visit The University of the Sciences at 12:00 PM.
