WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO RAMS 3-1
Philadelphia, Pa. (9/22/18) The Dominican College women’s volleyball team fell to the Rams of Jefferson University on Saturday three sets to one.
Philadelphia, Pa. (9/22/18) The Dominican College women's volleyball team fell to the Rams of Jefferson University on Saturday three sets to one. The Rams, 11-5 (6-0 CACC), with the win remain unbeaten in conference play this season. The Chargers fall to 2-12 (2-4 CACC) with the loss.
The Rams defeated the Chargers in the first set by a score of 25-12 and the second set by a score of 25-17 for the two sets to none lead.
The Chargers bounced back with a close 25-23 win in the third set to get on the board and force a fourth set. The Rams answered back to win the fourth set by a score of 25-19 to secure the victory over Dominican.
Logan Dontell led the Rams in kills with 11 in the win. Amber Johnson recorded 9 kills while both Courtney Wensel and Abigail Kress finished with 7 kills.
Molly Hand led the Rams in assists with 21 in the win. Alexandra Harrington contributed 20 assists in the win.
For the Chargers, Malia Robinson (Jersey City, N.J.) recorded 10 kills, 6 digs, and 11.5 points. Mykalee Chambers (Bronx, N.Y.) scored 10 points with 10 kills and 4 digs. Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) scored 8 points and recorded 6 kills and 16 digs.
Gabrielle Napoleon (Springfield, Pa.) scored 6.5 points while Jaid Harrell (Kingston, N.Y.) scored 6 points. Napoleon and Harrell each finished with 5 kills. Natalia Perez (Prosper, Texas) finished with 14 digs while Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) led the team in assists with 31 and added 11 digs in the loss.
DC will travel to Felician Univesity on Tuesday, September 25th for a conference match with the Golden Falcons at 7:00 PM.
