Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/27/18) Women's Volleyball fell to the Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday by a score of three sets to none.
The Lightning defeated the Chargers in three straight sets. GBC took a 1-0 match lead with a 25-23 win in the opening set. GBC took the second set by a score of 25-16 and sealed the match victory in the third set by a score of 25-16.
The Chargers, 3-22 (3-14 CACC), rallied in the first set before GBC was able to finish off the win. The Chargers rallied down 23-15 and tied the Lighting on an eight-point run. The Lighting, 7-20 (5-12 CACC), bounced back to secure the win in the opening set and never looked back.
Shayla Boyce led the Lightning with 15 points and added 13 kills with 6 digs in the win. Julia Sydrahl scored 13.5 points and recorded 10 kills. Lindsay Przywara scored 12.5 points and recorded 12 kills and 12 digs. Olivia Florence led the team in assists with 19.
For the Chargers, Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) led the team in points with 9 and added 5 kills and 11 digs. Malia Robinson (Jersey City, N.J.) and Gabrielle Napoleon (Springfield, Pa.) each scored 4.5 points for DC. Natalia Perez (Prosper, Texas) and Mykalee Chambers (Bronx, N.Y.) each recorded 9 digs.
The Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday, October 31st when they host Post University at 7:00 PM.
