VOLLEYBALL FALLS ON DAY ONE OF SHARK INVITATIONAL

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (9/10/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team fell on day one of the 2021 Shark Invitational hosted by Nova Southeastern University in matches played in Rick Case Arena. DC was topped by the host, 3-0 and then lost to Findlay University, 3-0.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (9/10/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team fell on day one of the 2021 Shark Invitational hosted by Nova Southeastern University in matches played in Rick Case Arena. DC was topped by the host, 3-0 and then lost to Findlay University, 3-0.

With the loss, Dominican is now 2-3 overall on the season.

Match One:  The Sharks defeated the Chargers in three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-17.

Redshirt junior Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) and Freshman outside hitter Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) led Dominican with five kills a-piece in the loss.

Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) recorded 10 assists and Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) had 12 defensive digs.

Match Two:  LaPier tallied a team leading nine kills in a 3-0 (25-17, 2516-25-12) loss to the Oilers.

Rookie Lindley McCutcheon (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) tied her career high with seven kills, while Ainsworth produced 14 assists.

Armao Peng had nine digs.

Dominican returns to action tomorrow as they take on Barton College and Auburn University at Montgomery.
