After the loss, the Chargers fell to 6-7 (4-2 CACC). The Wildcats improved to 5-11 (3-2 CACC) after the win.
The Chargers were led by Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) who finished the match with a team-high 13 kills and 14 points. LaPier also contributed 10 digs. Alessandra Pantoja (Lewisville, Texas) led the Chargers in assists with 30 and added 10 digs.
Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) finished the match with a team-high 15 digs. Andreya Davis (Peekskill, N.Y.) added six kills and six points while Elizabeth Perez (Miami, Fla.) recorded five kills, five points, and seven digs.
The Wildcats started off the match with a 25-14 victory for the 1-0 match lead. Wilmington extended to a 2-0 match lead after a 25-17 victory in the second set. The Chargers fell behind in the third set but battled back.
The Wildcats held an 11-5 lead over the Chargers but Dominican rallied by using an 11-4 run to take the lead.
Both teams went back and forth down the stretch in the third set. The Wildcats finished off the third set by out-scoring Dominican 6-1 to complete the match victory.
The Wildcats were led by Brice Hansen who finished with 11.5 points and 11 kills. Elly Collins finished with a match high 25 digs while Katie Bushong added 32 assists which was a team-high.
Dominican returns to action on Tuesday, September 27th when they return home to host the Golden Falcons of Felician University at 7:00 PM.
