(11/2/17) -- Thirty-three (33) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 33 honorees come from 11 member institutions that sponsor the sport at the varsity level in the CACC.

New Haven, Conn. (11/2/17) -- Thirty-three (33) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 33 honorees come from 11 member institutions that sponsor the sport at the varsity level in the CACC.

Dominican College had four selections to the team.  Sophomores Kaitlynn Connor (Warwick, N.Y.) and Djazmina Jean-Pierre (Spring Valley, N.Y.) both make their first appearance with Connor sporting a GPA of 3.72 and Jean-Pierre has a GPA of 3.67.  Juniors Jennifer Heller (Butler, N.J.) and Micaela Rispoli (Cliffside Park, N.J.) also make their first appearance on the team as Heller has a GPA of 3.52 and Rispoli has a GPA of 3.50.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) and University of the Sciences each led the way with five honorees apiece. Jefferson, which claimed the 2017 CACC women's title last week at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, Del., featured  Gypsee Blue Cooper (3.58), Victoria Hochuli (3.76), Erin Raup (3.61), Maria Santangelo (3.87) and Nicole Stough (3.62).

USciences' five honorees included Regan Asay (3.56), Emily Brand (3.89), Olivia DeLorenzo (3.97), Elizabeth Sauers (3.89), Sara Skoritowski (3.60). 

The student-athlete to boast the highest GPA on the list was Georgian Court University's Kylie Jones, who owns a perfect 4.0 mark.
