33 STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED TO 2018 CACC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ALL-ACACDEMIC TEAM
New Haven, Conn. (12/17/18) Thirty-three (33) student-athletes on Friday were named to the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 33 honorees represent 12 schools in the CACC that compete in the sport at the varsity level.

Dominican College had one student-athlete on the list as junior Kaitlynn Connor (Warwick, N.Y.) makes her second appearance on the All-Academic Team with a GPA of 3.54.
Jefferson led all schools with six honorees on the All-Academic squad, led by junior Meghan Horan's cumulative grade point average of 3.89 in her major of physician's assistant studies.
Both Goldey-Beacom College and University of the Sciences followed with five honorees apiece, while Wilmington University and Chestnut Hill College each had four honorees.
Six honorees on the squad earned GPAs of 3.90 or higher. The top mark on the CACC All-Academic Team was Post University's Kendall Fitzgerald, as the junior owns a mark of 3.98 in her major of biology. Fitzgerald, who won the CACC individual championship and claimed the league's runner-of-the-year award for the third season in a row, also claimed the CACC Top XVI Award in late October at the WXC Championship for having the highest GPA at the finals site.
Eighteen (18) of the 33 honorees (55%) were named to the All-Academic team for at least the second time in their respective careers. Eight of the 18 were named to the CACC All-Academic Team for the third time.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
