DC COMEBACK FALLS SHORT TO CEDARVILLE

Cary, N.C. (3/9/19) The Dominican College baseball team fell to the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets by a score of 5-4.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 4-6 with the win and the Chargers fall to 2-4 overall on the season.
The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 5-0 lead over the Chargers with two runs in the third inning, on run in the fourth, and two in the fifth. DC answered with three runs in the bottom half of the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 5-3.
DC added another run in the bottom of the seventh inning to cut the Cedarville lead to 5-4. The Chargers fell short in their comeback 5-4.
Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) went 1 for 3 with an RBI on a SAC fly in the fifth inning which cut the deficit to 5-3. Benjamin Meza (Miami, Fla.) recorded two hits and also scored a run. Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras) and Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) each recorded a hit a scored a run in the game.
Eric Sandusky (Stony, Point, N.Y.) took the mound for the Chargers and pitched five innings and recorded seven strikeouts.
Gage Voorhees took the mound for the Yellow Jackets and pitched six innings and recorded six strikeouts to improve his record to 3-0 on the season. Peyton Eeles went 3 for 4 in the game and scored two runs in the win. Logan Eby recorded two hits and an RBI for Cedarville.
Matthew Biermann, Connor Culhane, Elijah Sanchez, and Logan Eby each recorded one RBI in the win.
DC will be back in action tomorrow March 10th when they face the College of St. Rose at 1:30 PM.
