With the win, Dominican improves to 5-4 on the season.
Dominican put four runs on the board in top of the second inning as William Rotella (Stony Point, N.Y.) scored on a passed ball and Brian Rotella (Stony Point, N.Y.) followed with an RBI double. Later with two outs center fielder Elijah Tavarez (Valley Stream, N.Y.) produced a two-run single for the 4-0 lead.
The Fighting Falcons got two runs back in the fifth frame, but DC extended the lead with a three-run sixth inning on an RBI double from Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) and a run-scoring single off the bat of senior Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.).
The Chargers added two more runs in the seventh on the two-run two out single by shortstop Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) for the 9-2 lead and eventual win.
Tavarez and B. Rotella each had two hits in the win.
Bernacet, Tavarez and Colon recorded two RBIs each.
Reliever Cole Francher (Gilboa, N.Y.) picked up his first collegiate win.
DC will take on Slippery Rock University and Fairmont State tomorrow in action at the USA Training Complex.
