Pomona, N.Y. (4/22/19) The Dominican College baseball team fell to the Post University Eagles in a conference game by a score of 6-2 in six innings. The Chargers fall to 21-19 (14-11 CACC) and the Eagles improved to 17-19 (14-11 CACC).
Game One: Rosario Missiti drove in three RBI for the Eagles on two hits including a double. Christian Aliberti went 4 for 4 in the win with one RBI and scored three runs. Matt Goehrig pitched all six innings and recorded five strikeouts to record the win.
Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) and Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) each drove in one RBI for the Chargers. Bernacet roped a double in the game.
The Chargers took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Missiti gave the Eagles the lead in the third inning. Bernacet's double tied the game in the bottom half of the third inning.
Alberti recorded an RBI single followed by a two-RBI double by Missiti to extend the lead to 5-2. Post added a run in the sixth inning and the game ended in six innings.
Game Two: The second game of the doubleheader was postponed due to inclement weather. A make-up date will be announced at a later date.
