BASEBALL FINISHES CONFERENCE PLAY WITH LOSS TO POST UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/29/19) The Dominican College baseball team fell to the Eagles of Post University by a score of 6-0 in a conference game played at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/29/19) The Dominican College baseball team fell to the Eagles of Post University by a score of 6-0 in a conference game played at Veteran's Memorial Park.
The game was the final regular season conference game for the Chargers as they fall to 24-23 (17-15 CACC). The Eagles improve to 21-22 (18-14 CACC) on the season after the win.
Travious Ford went 2 for 4 for the Eagles with a double and a triple and added two RBI in the win. Nicholas Gastin scored three runs and recorded two hits. Tyler Melko drove in two runs with a double.
Miguel De los sa also added an RBI for the Eagles. Matt Goehrig earned the win for Post to improve to 5-1 on the season. Goehrig pitched a complete seven shutout innings and recorded eight strikeouts.
Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) recorded two hits for the Chargers while Billy Rotella (Stony Point, N.Y.) also added two hits and a stolen base. Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) finished with one hit for the Chargers.
The Chargers will finish the regular season with two non-conference home games. On Tuesday, April 30th DC will host Molloy College at 3:30 PM. The Chargers will then host Queens College on Wednesday, May 1st for their final regular season game at 7:00 PM.
