DC ENDS REGULAR SEASON WITH A NON-CONFERENCE WIN OVER QUEENS COLLEGE
Pomona, N.Y. (5/1/19) The Dominican College baseball team ended the 2019 regular season with a non-conference win over Queens College by a score of 3-2.

The Chargers improve to 26-13 overall on the season and the Knights fall to 16-28 overall on the season.
The Knights took the lead in the top of the second inning when Jesse Spellman drove in two runs with a single for the 2-0 lead.
The Chargers cut the deficit to 2-1 in the bottom of the second inning when Billy Rotella (Stony Point, N.Y.) singled through the middle to drive in Elijah Tavarez (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and put DC on the board. The Chargers tied the game in the fourth inning when Elijah Tavarez hit an RBI single.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Nicholas DeCandia (Cresskill, N.Y.) gave the Chargers the lead with an RBI on a fielder's choice.
The game remained scoreless through the final three and a half innings. The Knights rallied in the ninth inning by loading the bases but were not able to tie the game. Cole Fancher (Gilboa, N.Y.) entered the game in relief in the eighth inning and completed the two-inning save.
Kyle Morgan (Boca Raton, Fla.) started for DC and recorded two strikeouts in 2.2 innings pitched. Jordyn Schwark (Kingston, N.Y.) earned the win to improve to 4-2 on the season. Schwark pitched 3.1 innings and recorded five strikeouts. Zach Pernick (Coral Springs, Fla.) recorded a scoreless inning for DC.
Tavarez finished with two hits, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base. Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.), Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras), Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.), Billy Rotella, Brett Karcher-Bowen (Cypress, Texas), and Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) each finished with one hit in the game.
The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, May 4th when they host the Chestnut Hill College Griffins for the CACC play-in game. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM at Palisades Credit Union Park.
