DECKER NAMED TO 2019 GOOGLE CLOUD ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT® BASEBALL TEAM
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/9/19) Dominican College baseball player, Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) has been named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team as was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA) today.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/9/19) Dominican College baseball player, Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) has been named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team as was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA) today.
The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (when selected) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
The senior second basemen, makes his second consecutive appearance on the Google Cloud Academic All-District® First Team. Decker maintains a 3.81 GPA and is majoring in Financial Management. He was previously named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) First Team for the second time and in 2018 earned All-CACC Second Team honors. He recorded his 200th career hit this season and became the program's All-Time Hit Leader. Decker is second on the team and is sixth in the conference in hits and runs batted in, while sitting sixth in the CACC in on-base percentage and 12th in batting average. Prior to the start of the season he was named to the 2019 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Preseason All-East Region First Team.
