Uniondale, N.Y. (3/1/20) The Dominican College baseball team fell in a non-conference double-header to host Molloy College, 10-9 and 11-6, in games played at Mitchel Field Athletic Complex today.

Uniondale, N.Y. (3/1/20) The Dominican College baseball team fell in a non-conference double-header to host Molloy College, 10-9 and 11-6, in games played at Mitchel Field Athletic Complex today.
Following the losses, Dominican falls to 0-6 on the season.
Game One: The Chargers scored four runs in the top of the fourth on a wild pitch, a bases loaded walk and two run single down the left field line by senior Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) to increase the lead to 4-1.
Molloy answered back with runs in their half of the fourth, fifth and seventh innings to go ahead 6-5. DC countered in the eighth with a two-run homer over the left field fence off the bat of freshman catcher David Hill (Boca Raton, Fla.) to rebuild a 7-6 edge but Molloy once again rallied with three runs in the bottom of the eighth to go ahead 9-7. Dominican added two runs in the ninth on singles by Max Chidsey (Naples, Fla.) and Billy Rotella (Stony Point, N.Y.) to tie the score, 9-9, but a one out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth lifted Molloy to the 10-9 win.
Colon, Rotella and Hill all collected two hits with Colon picking up three RBI.
Freshman Brendan Turton (Westbury, N.Y.) took the loss (0-1).
Game Two: Dominican opened the nightcap with a run as junior Ryan Ruziecki (Lincroft, N.J.) led off the game with a solo home run for the early 1-0 lead. MC scored four runs in the second and third innings for the 8-1 lead, but DC plated four runs in the third on a single to right field from Colon, a fielder's choice, a wild pitch and an RBI infield single to cut the deficit to 8-5.
The Lions added runs in the fourth and fifth frames and the Chargers closed out the scoring in the sixth with a run that scored on a passed ball for the final 11-6 score.
Ruziecki and Rotella had two hits a-piece.
Senior Nicholas Galese (Totowa, N.J.) suffered the loss (0-1).
Dominican returns to action this coming Friday as they take on the University of New Haven in Cary, N.C.
