BASEBALL EDGED BY MOUNT OLIVE

Mount Olive, N.C. (3/11/20) The Dominican College baseball team fell to the University of Mount Olive earlier today by a score of 3-1. Today's game was the second consecutive day DC played Mount Olive at Scarborough Field.
The Chargers fall to 2-10 overall on the season and the Trojans improve to 20-4 overall.
The Chargers jumped out in front early when Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras) doubled in the first run of the game do put DC on top 1-0.
The Trojans answered back in the bottom of the first with two runs to take the lead. J.T. Stone homered to tie the game and Junior Snow doubled in the second run of the inning to give Mount Olive the 2-1 lead.
Both teams were scoreless over the next five innings until Mount Olive extended their lead when James Smibert hit an RBI double.
The Trojans secured the win and starter Trent Joiner recorded the win and seven strikeouts. Kyle Davis earned his second save of the season. Joe Mason recorded two hits and scored one run.
For the Chargers, Ryan Ruziecki (Lincroft, N.J.), Kennee Torres (Yonkers, N.Y.), Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.), Tyler Patterson (East Meadow, N.Y.), Arthur Quinones (Miami, Fla.), Steven Santana (Bronx, N.Y.), and Brian Sanders all recorded one hit each.
The Chargers will look to bounce back against St. Thomas Aquinas College on Thursday, March 12th at 12:00 PM in Cary, N.C.
