Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/27/19) The Dominican College men's golf team will make their third consecutive appearance in the Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional Tournament to be held May 9-11 at the Totteridge Golf Club in Greensburg, Pa. and hosted by California University of Pennslyvania.
The NCAA announced the field of 80 teams and 32 student-athletes competing as individuals that have been selected to participate in regional competition yesterday.
The Chargers, ranked fourth in the East Region, earned an automatic berth in the NCAA Super Regional after winning the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship this past fall. DC is one of four teams from the CACC to participate in this year's Super Regional Tournament as Post University is ranked seventh, Concordia College is ninth and Wilmington University is ranked 10th.
At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals May 20-24 at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven. The finals will be hosted by the Mountain East Conference.
Tournaments will be conducted at four regional sites with regional pairings as follows:
Atlantic and East
Central and Midwest
South and Southeast
South Central and West
