GRANT HITS 1000 POINT MARK IN VICTORY OVER CLIPPERS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/16/19) Junior guard Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) netted his 1000th career point on a layup with 4:26 remaining in the first half to help lead the Dominican College men's basketball team to a 72-60 win over the visiting Clippers of Concordia College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

(1/16/19) Junior guard Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) netted his 1000th career point on a layup with 4:26 remaining in the first half to help lead the Dominican College men's basketball team to a 72-60 win over the visiting Clippers of Concordia College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
With the win, Dominican improves to 12-3 overall and 7-0 in the CACC.
Concordia held the 5-4 advantage early in the first half when the Chargers pulled away with a 21-5 tear to jump ahead 25-10 with under 10 minutes left in the half. Grant would later in crease the lead to 32-17 with his 1000th career point on a drive to the basket and completed the and-one play following a foul. DC went into the locker room with a 42-23 lead at the break.
Grant led all scorers in the first half with 12 points.
The Chargers would lead by as many as 25 points early in the second frame as they cruised to the 72-60 win.
Senior Ian Gardener (Norwalk, Conn.) led three Chargers in double figures with 19 points (8-14 from the floor) and six rebounds.
Grant finished with the double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds and four assists, while Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.) finished with 12 points.
Jason Copman (Cumberland, Md.) grabbed 10 boards, while Tavon Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.) tallied seven points and Jonathan Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) added six points, six rebounds and three assists.
Dominican is scheduled to travel to Wilmington University this coming Saturday.
