Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/5/19) Dominican College junior guard, Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.), netted his 1000th career point on a three-point basket from the corner with 5:49 left in the first half tonight in the 75-60 loss to the visiting Cougars of Caldwell University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game in the Hennessy Center.
With the loss, Dominican is now 15-4 overall and 10-1 in conference play.
Rodwell came into tonight's game with 995 career points and picked up his first points of the contest on a trey with 6:16 left in the first half. Next possession he followe with a second three-point basket to reach and surpass the 1000 point plateau.
Senior Ian Gardener (Norwalk, Conn.) led Dominican with 21 points.
Rodwell finished with 11 points, while guard Jonathan Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) added eight points and three assists.
Junior Jason Copman (Cumberland, Md.) grabbed a night best 12 rebounds in the loss.
AJ Kittles led five Cougars in double figures with 16 points.
Dominican returns to action on Thursday evening as they travel to Wilmington University for a make-up contest, originally scheduled for January 19th.
