CHARGERS IMPROVE TO 4-0 AFTER NON-CONFERENCE WIN OVER THE COLLEGE OF ST ROSE

The game was the final one of the weekend of the 8th Annual Daniel Sullivan Memorial Tournament.
The Chargers improve to 4-0 overall on the season and the Golden Knights fall to 2-2 overall.
The Chargers outscored the Golden Knights in the first half 29-25. Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.) scored 13 points in the first half to lead the Chargers. Jonathan Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) pulled down eight boards and scored eight points in the opening half.
Sekou Sylla scored 10 points and recorded five rebounds for St Rose. Michael Wearne added seven points. Cartier Bowman recorded eight rebounds.
In the second half, the Chargers jumped out to their largest lead of the game over the Golden Knights which was 16. The Golden Knights battled back to cut the deficit to four points with fifteen seconds remaining.
The Chargers did not give up the lead and were able to secure the 83-76 victory.
Sylla finished the game with a double-double for the Golden Knights by scoring a team-high 21 points and recorded 10 boards. Tyler Washington finished the game with 18 points. Michael Wearne added 10 points while Adam Anderson added eight points and 11 rebounds. Josh McGettigan scored 11 points and pulled down five rebounds.
Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 23 points and went four for six from three-point range.
Rodwell finished the game with 20 points, four assists, three steals, and two rebounds. Garcia finished the game with a double-double by scoring 18 points and grabbed 13 boards and also added six assists. Jason Copman (Cumberland, Md.) scored 10 points and recorded seven rebounds.
Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) scored eight points and pulled down five rebounds and recorded three assists.
The Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday, November 20th when they host the Caldwell University Cougars for their first conference game of the season. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 PM.
