GINYARD LEADS CHARGERS OVER COUGARS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/20/19) Senior guard Tavon Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.) scored a career high 38 points to lead the Dominican College Chargers to a 78-56 victory over the visiting Cougars of Caldwell University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

Following the win, Dominican is now 5-0 overall and 1-0 in CACC play.
Ginyard went 8-9 from the three-point arc, 12-17 from the floor and 6-7 from the charity stripe in the win.
Caldwell led 21-20 with seven and a half minutes left in the first half when DC charged back with a 20-7 run to jump out to a 40-30 lead with 1:18 left in the first half. A Ginyard trey with 29 ticks on the clock extended the lead to 43-20 at the intermission.
The Cougars opened the second half with the first nine points to cut the deficit to 43-39, but a 9-1 Charger run rebuilt a double-digit advantage (52-40) and they never looked back as they went on to the win.
Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.) netted 14 points, while Jason Copman (Cumberland, Md.) added 12 points and eight rebounds.
Guard Jonathan Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) dished out a game best nine assists, two steals, two blocks and eight points and Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) grabbed seven rebounds, two blocks, two assists and one steal.
The Chargers return to action on Monday night as they travel to non-conference opponent, St. Thomas Aquinas College.
