MEN'S BASKETBALL REMAINS UNBEATEN WITH WIN OVER STAC

Sparkill, N.Y. (11/25/19) The Dominican College men's basketball team earned a non-conference win over the Spartans of St Thomas Aquinas College.
The Chargers remain undefeated after the win and improve to 6-0. The Chargers handed the Spartans their first loss of the season and fall to 6-1.
Dominican played a strong first half and held the lead throughout the entire opening half. DC extended out to their largest lead of the half which was 13 over the Spartans.
The Chargers shot 42.4% from the field in the first half. The Spartans shot 28.2% from the field. Tavon Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.) and Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.) each scored 10 points to lead the Chargers at halftime.
Osbel Caraballo led STAQ with 11 points in the first half.
In the second half, the Spartans cut the DC lead to two points. The Chargers answered back and extended out to a 16 point lead which was their largest of the game. The Chargers never gave up the lead and eventually closed out the 87-73 win.
Ginyard scored a team-high 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Chargers.. Jonathan Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) scored 19 points and pulled down eight boards while recording six assists, three blocks, and four steals.
Rodwell finished the game with 15 points, five assists, and three rebounds. Jason Copman (Cumberland, Md.) scored nine points, recorded a team-high 15 rebounds, and also added six blocks. Tedrick Wilcox (Pawtucket, R.I.) added eight points and pulled down two rebounds.
Sekou Cisse and Jamar Sudan each recorded a double-double for the Spartans. Cisse scored 11 points, recorded 12 rebounds, and also added four assists. Sudan scored 12 points and added 12 rebounds. Osbel Caraballo scored a team-high 22 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Demetre Roberts finished the game with 16 points.
The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, November 30th when they travel to Nyack College for a conference game with the Warriors at 3:00 PM.
