MEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS NYACK ON SENIOR DAY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/29/20) The Dominican College men's basketball team ended the regular season with a 82-65 victory over the visiting Warriors of Nyack College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Coach Baxter Court.

With the win Dominican improves to 22-6 overall and 15-4 in CACC play.
Prior to the start of the contest, the team honored seniors: #1 Tavon Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.), #2 Jonathan Garcia (Springfield, Mass.), #5 Ethan Smith, Jr. (Nyack, N.Y.), #13 Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.) and #35 Jason Copman (Cumberland, Md.).
The Chargers led 19-16 with 7:07 left in the first half when they charged ahead by going on a 15-2 tear to increase the lead to 34-18 with a little over three minutes left in the half. DC netted the final seven points of the stanza to head into the locker room with the 41-23 advantage.
Nyack would cute the lead to seven (58-45) with over eight minutes left in regulation, but DC countered with an 8-2 run to rebuild the double digit lead.
Copman led all scorers and produced the game's only double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
Rodwell finished with 13 points and Smith added 11 points and four rebounds.
Junior Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) added seven points, seven rebounds and five assists.
For the Warriors, Curtis Thompson had a team best 18 points.
Dominican heads into the post season as the top seed in the CACC North Division and will host a 2020 CACC Men's Basketball Championship Quarterfinal contest this coming Tuesday evening against #4S Georgian Court University. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 pm on Coach Baxter Court.
