MARTINEZ LEADS CHARGERS TO FIRST CONFERENCE WIN OVER NYACK

Nyack, N.Y. (10/2/19) The Dominican College men's soccer team traveled to Nyack College for a conference game against the Warriors. 

DC earned their first conference win of the season by shutting out Nyack 2-0. With the win, the Chargers improve to 3-6 (1-2 CACC) and the Warriors fall to 0-6-2 (0-4 CACC).

Tyler Doll (St. Louis, Mo.) started in net for the Chargers and recorded three saves to help keep the Warriors off the board. The Chargers took 14 shots in the game and six were recorded on goal. Ewan Gray (Middlesbrough, England) took three shots and recorded one on goal. 

Maximino Casares Martinez (Ciudad De Panama, Panama) led the Chargers in the win by taking five shots and recorded three on goal. Martinez scored both goals in the win. The first goal came late in the first half at the 42:42 mark for the 1-0 lead. Martinez scored the second goal of the game with ten minutes remaining. 

Anthony Contero (Washingtonville, N.Y.) and Jhosep Tovar (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) each recorded one assist in both Martinez goals. 

The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, October 5th when they travel to Goldey-Beacom College for a conference game at 3:30 PM.
