MERCED WINS THE 200M AND 400M DASH AT THE MONMOUTH UNIVERSITY WINTER COLLEGIATE INVITATIONAL

Monmouth, N.J. (2/9/19) Senior Michael Merced (Pearl River, N.Y.) won the 200m and 400m dash at the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational.

Monmouth, N.J. (2/9/19) Senior Michael Merced (Pearl River, N.Y.) won the 200m and 400m dash at the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational.

Merced won the 200m dash with a time of 23.02. He also won the 400m dash with a time of 50.31.

Lowell Pierrette (Elmsford, N.Y.) also competed in the 200m dash and took 20th place with a time of 24.15. Freshman Brandon Adams (Highland Mills, N.Y.) finished in 23rd place with a time of 24.28. Justin Estevez (Nanuet, N.Y.) and Dylan Roadarmel (New City, N.Y.) finished in 35th and 36th place with times of 25.69 and 26.53.

Senior Andrew Pierre (Spring Valley, N.Y.) competed in the 60m dash where he finished in 11th place with a time of 7.29. Adams took 15th place with a time of 7.36, while Pierrette took 21st place with a time of 7.53. Senior Roadarmel finished in 28th place with a time of 7.94 and Estevez took 30th place with a time of 8.02.

Pierre and Andrew Thomas (Brooklyn, N.Y.) competed in the 400m dash and took 17th and 18th respectively with times of 56.00 and 56.47.

In the 800m run, sophomore Cameron Whitton (Monroe, N.Y.) ran a time of 2:13.63 to finish in 19th place, while junior Rollens Florvil (Spring Valley, N.Y.) took 20th place with a time of 2:17.08.

Nicholas Beutel (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) and David Jeffers (Florida, N.Y.) finished in 23rd and 24th place in the mile run with times of 5:16.21 and 5:47.98.

The 4x400m relay team of Florvil, Whitton, Estevez and Pierrette took sixth place with a time of 3:44.17.
