SOFTBALL ENDS FLORIDA TRIP WITH LOSSES TO KENTUCKY WESLEYAN AND LAKE ERIE COLLEGE
Clermont, Fla. (2/27/18) The Dominican College softball squad concluded their season opening road trip to Florida with two non-conference losses to Kentucky Wesleyan and Lake Erie College in games played this morning at The Spring Games. The Lady Chargers fell to KWC, 5-1 and lost to Lake Erie, 4-0 to end their trip with a 3-7 record.

(2/27/18) The Dominican College softball squad concluded their season opening road trip to Florida with two non-conference losses to Kentucky Wesleyan and Lake Erie College in games played this morning at The Spring Games. The Lady Chargers fell to KWC, 5-1 and lost to Lake Erie, 4-0 to end their trip with a 3-7 record.
Game One: Dominican got on the board in the top of the first as leadoff hitter Rajene Bowe (Ellendale, Md.) led the game off with a triple to left field and sophomore right fielder Samantha Fitzgerald (Fishkill, N.Y.) followed with a sacrifice fly ball to right field to bring her home.
The Panthers countered with a run in the bottom frame and added two runs in the third and two in the fourth for the 5-1 win.
First basemen Taylor Gilligan (Medford, N.J.) had two hits for the Lady Chargers.
Shelby Smith (Valley Center, Calif.) took the loss (1-3) in 3 1/3 innings of work, allowing five runs on eight hits and two strikeouts.
Game Two: The Storm offense put together 14 hits in the 4-0 shut out win.
Taylor Daniels (Watervliet, N.Y.) had two of the five Lady Charger hits.
Junior Jennifer Paride (Stonington, Conn.) suffered the loss (2-3) in 2 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits and one strikeout.
Dominican is scheduled to return to action on March 17th when they open up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a road double-header at the University of the Sciences.
